Wairarapa Winter Weddings – Rebecca & Campbell

2018-09-21T03:27:39+12:00

Wairarapa Winter Weddings - Rebecca & Campbell I love a good winter wedding! The light is lovely and soft and the days are short. This means you get to make the most of the daylight, golden hour and night time shots without taking pictures all day and all night! Rebecca and Campbell chose their date for the new moon for the start of a new beginning and I was so excited. I  kept my fingers and toes crossed for a lovely sunny day and a clear night! Thanks so much for having me along Rebecca & Campbell. x

NZIPP Iris Awards 2018

2018-08-10T01:55:37+12:00

NZIPP Iris Awards 2018 Its that time of year again and it still makes me nervous! Luckily I came away with 7 awards, which I was thrilled with, so here is the low down..... First up, my silver award from the NZIPP Iris Awards. This image was entered into the Portrait In Camera Artistry Category. This category celebrates in-camera capture so no photoshopp trickery allowed! I had about 9 or so images from this shoot which I was going to entered last year, but I couldn't quite decide how to lay them out. In the end I opted to use just these three shots of my boys playing around on a wooden boat at the park. I decided that take the documentary style images and use the repetition of the circles and the lines of the boat to create a stronger graphic. I was thrilled to receive a bronze award [...]

Queensberry Wedding Albums – Tina & David

2018-06-22T00:41:27+12:00

Queensberry Wedding Albums - Tina & David   I always feel that a wedding isn't really finished until the album is complete. Its that time of year again when I am busy finishing up all the albums from over summer, and for me  this is the best bit. Seeing all the images form the day put together to tell the story of your day as it unfolds. I always so to couples that although this is your album it not just for you. Its also for your children, your children's children. A way to sit together and look over the memories from the day when this little branch of your family starting. I think all to to often, we don't realise just how important photographs are until they are gone. If you want to make sure you still have them in 10, 20, 30 years time then print them. Even better [...]

Wairarapa Family Photographer – April & Family

2018-06-15T04:43:31+12:00

Wairarapa Family Photographer - April & Family April had just recently moved over to the Wairarapa from Wellington and wanted some updated family photographs, but also to celebrate their new adventure as a family. So I thought what better place than to head down to one my favorite local summer spots. Its such a gorgeous wee camping area with a  beautiful river  & swimming hole, just as the river exits the ranges. The cool thing was these guys hadn't been there before so it was awesome to introduce them to some of Featherston's best assets. :) I reckon there might be few trips down here once summer returns!

Wairarapa Newborn Photographer – Meet Jett!

2018-06-15T04:25:20+12:00

Wairarapa Newborn Photographer - Meet Jett! It the second time I have photographed this lovely family. Little Mr Fox now has a new brother. Its taken a little getting used to but I think they will firm friends in no time! Gorgeous Jett is the spitting image of his big brother as a baby - many with a touch less hair! Jett's mum brought in a beautiful hand knitted blanket for him to be photographed on. It was so warm and snuggly - perfect for these winter nights! Poppies Martinborough Wedding Photographer – Mel & Ants

2018-05-18T06:08:34+12:00

Poppies Martinborough Wedding Photographer - Mel & Ants I just loved, loved shooting this wedding! Mel and Ants are just so awesome and to top it off it was an off season wedding which I just love! There is a lot to be said for getting married over the cooler months - you get a wider choice of vendors, the light is softer and you also get to enjoy not only the soft light, but sunset, the blue hours and if you are lucky a clear night and a wedding photograph under the milkyway! What more could you ask for! Thanks so much for having me along Mel & Ants! xx

Martinborough Wedding Photographer – Kelly & Mark

2018-04-25T04:11:20+12:00

Martinborough Wedding Photographer - Kelly & Mark Well, what a location for a wedding! Kelly's family own a farm in Martinborough, so its was only fitting that this is where the wedding was to be held. So all the yutes came out to get everyone up and over the farm to where it was all happening - I think we can say that it was well worth it!

Castlepoint Wedding Photographer – Warren & Julie

2018-04-25T03:48:13+12:00

Castlepoint Wedding Photographer - Warren & Julie What a wonderful! The wild and windy Wairarapa coast at its absolute best! Julie & Warren had arranged a small, intimate, low key affair out on the price of land they own out at Castlepoint. It has views galore and is where they plan on building their home together, so it really was the perfect place to official start their life together. The late afternoon ceremony meant that we could make the most of of stunning early evening light, so off we went on a hike around the the cliff tops, back down the beach and finally ending up at the lighthouse just as the sun was setting.
