It’s been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster today.
Hold your loved ones tight and tell them you love them.
Today I had the privilege of documenting my good friends amazing act for charity. Anyone that knows Marise will tell you she is the most thoughtful, caring, generous woman. She just dosen’t stop giving and helping. Ever. I am so proud to call her my friend.
So it was no surprise she decided on embark on a fundraising mission in aid of the child cancer foundation. Here is her story in her own words –
‘So many people in my life are undergoing cancer battles at the moment. Many brave loved ones are fighting it, some have sadly lost the battle. I’ve decided to undergo my shave not only to raise $ for an amazing cause but in recognition and as a show of solidarity for these awesome people facing their cancer demons. When my eldest daughter spent time in Wellington Children’s Hospital we were in ward 2 where lots of the cancer kids were. I remember (selfishly thinking) we’re doing ok, at least its not cancer…so this is my chance to give to an amazing cause who help all those families who are! So please help me reach my target. Sincere thanks in advance for your generosity!’
The Funrazor took place at our children’s school, St Teresa’s in Featherston. Marise was supported by all the staff and children who had organised a PJ day to raise some extra funds. Paul from our local barber shop in town kindly gave his time to do the shave.
The fundraiser is still open so if you would like to help please do pop on over by following the link below –

When my boys and hubby get home I am going to give them all a big hug, and tell them I love them. Make sure you do the same because life really is so precious. And we really are so blessed. Xxx
Thanks to everyone who donated, Paul from the Barber Shop in Featherston, St Teresa’s School for hosting the event, friends and family who came along to support Marise and all the children of St Teresa’s who had a PJ day to raise extra funds!
