NZIPP Iris Awards 2016

2021-03-23T20:50:53+13:00

NZIPP Iris Awards 2016 It had been quite a while since I had entered the NZIPP Iris Awards for one reason or another. So this year I decided to give it a go. I have to admit I was pretty nervous as it is not easy getting an award at Iris and it had been such a long time...... Oh well I figured why not! And then spent weeks agonising over what to enter, getting the prints right and all the other things that things that you worry about! The thing is although it takes a lot of time, a lot of mental energy and also a very patient and supportive family (thanks Glen for listening to me going on about it for weeks!), I always learn so much about my work by going through the process. It always help to lift it up a notch. So even if [...]

Wairarapa Winter Wedding - Frankie & Andrew Oh what a perfect day for a winter wedding. Café Cecille in Masterton was the venue, which is fantastic for an informal, winter wedding. And Informal this was! I love that the day just flowed and I got to hang out with you guys and your lovely family! It really was a special wedding - thanks for having me along!

Silverstream Retreat Wedding – Gemma & Raymond

2021-03-23T20:23:25+13:00

Silverstream Retreat Wedding - Gemma & Raymond What an amazing day! Gemma booked her wedding photography with me after being referred from a good photographer friend of mine so I really wanted to make sure I looked after Gemma and Ray. They were married on a blistering hot summers day at Silverstream Retreat, the Hutt Valley, Wellington. I had seen a sneak peak of Gemma's dress so I knew she would look amazing and Ray - you were looking pretty swish as well! Between them, Gemma & Ray have three gorgeous children and it was touching to see just how big a part they played in the day and what awesome devoted parents they both are! One of the loveliest things I have seen in a while was a sand picture where  Gemma, Ray and the children all had a colour each to make sand image in a glass box frame. I [...]

Makoura Lodge Wedding – Rachel & Jason

2023-01-18T21:05:00+13:00

Makoura Lodge Wedding Rachel and Jason are from the Manawatu with a strong farming and hunting background. When they first contacted me about photographing their wedding, I had never been the Makoura Lodge and after goggling it realised it was miles from anywhere! What a venue though! For Jason being a keen hunter and Rachel having grown up on a farm, there really was no other choice - the wedding had to be at Makoura lodge as it just ticked all the boxes. And what a perfect day it turned out to be! Jason had organised a helicopter to take the boys to the venue - Marise was wrapped seeing as she was shooting the boys getting ready! I carried on up the lodge to hang out with the girls. The venue really is stunning, and the weather played ball for us as well - we were slightly worried [...]

Eastbourne Wedding Photographer – Seb & Nastya

2021-03-23T20:58:54+13:00

What a stunning wedding I had the pleasure of photography over in Eastbourne, Wellington. This gorgeous couple have a quite a unique story. Their love story started out at university in Siberia. Seb was studying Russian and Nastya sociology. The Moscow based couple wanted a small intimate wedding so that Nastya's parents could meet Seb's wider kiwi family, and it really was a lovely family occasion, full of Russian traditions! Thank you so much for having us along on your special day!

Wellington Wedding Photographer – Candice & Hemani

2015-05-18T02:18:37+12:00

Wellington Wedding Photographer A couple of weeks ago I headed over to Wellington for a wedding in the most hideous weather - luckily the wedding was being held at Wallaceville House, which had lots of lovely options for wet weather locations! Based in France, Candice and Mani had flown over with their children for the wedding and a much needed reunion with their family. The wedding was planned a short time frame to fit in with Mani's busy schedule and I was amazed at well Candice did in the time she had!  Sometimes I think it can be better to not have to time to agonise over every detail! The wedding really was stunning and Candice and Mani, you looked amazing - we had so much fun, despite the rain! We managed to get some lovely shots outside and made the most of what Wallaceville had to offer. I was [...]

Wedding Photographer Wellington – Gill & Phil

2015-05-18T02:32:29+12:00

We had such a fun day today! Marise and I set off from the Wairarapa bright and early for a morning wedding in Wellington. After a beautiful, intimate service at St Peters on Willis Street, the guests were lead down to Cuba Street by a piper. A very relaxed, fun family wedding. Thanks Gill and Phill for an awesome morning!

Wellington Wedding Photographer – Anna & Dan’s Vintage Chic Wedding

2015-05-18T02:40:51+12:00

Anna & Dan were married last weekend in Wellington. I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while - a stunning dress by Sophie Voon, Hill Cook and her team for hair & make-up, ceremony at the Old Museum Building and reception at St John's Bar - it was going to be great. And it was. Anna looked amazing - this girl has the most beautiful dreamy eyes. Her bridesmaids looked fab as well, and the groom and groomsmen didn't disappoint either! The girls got ready at the Othel Hotel on Oriental Bay, whilst the boys were over at the Museum Hotel. Here's Dan checking out whats happening on the street below whilst getting ready. The it was off to the bar for a pint. The Old Museum is a beautiful building with stunning windows. I love this shot from Marise. Then it was off to Oriental Bay [...]
