Castlepoint Wedding Photographer - Warren & Julie What a wonderful! The wild and windy Wairarapa coast at its absolute best! Julie & Warren had arranged a small, intimate, low key affair out on the price of land they own out at Castlepoint. It has views galore and is where they plan on building their home together, so it really was the perfect place to official start their life together. The late afternoon ceremony meant that we could make the most of of stunning early evening light, so off we went on a hike around the the cliff tops, back down the beach and finally ending up at the lighthouse just as the sun was setting.

Adventure Photography Wellington - Mt Holdsworth Night Hike The first weekend for ages without a wedding, so whats a girl to do? Get hold of a mate and head up into the hills for a bit of adventure! The plan was to take some Milkyway shots from around 5am but the clouds had other ideas! We headed up anyway. I didn't get what I was hoping for, but that is all good as its really cool to get something unexpected instead! The cloud was rolling over quite fast but I managed to get a clear view of the milkyway with the Mt Holdsworth trig and then a shot with the milyway over the range slooking south as the sun was beginning to rise. (The lights of the Wairarapa on the left and Kapiti on the right) Over towards Masterton the cloud would roll over the hills turning the towns lights on and off again as it passed by. It was pretty special to just sit and watch. The walk back down was magical - the hour before sunrise is always my favourite time to shoot. The colours are just so delicate and soft, and with the clouds filling the valleys it really was stunning. Sarah and I stopped and chatted about, how grateful we feel to be fit and healthy to be able to come into the hills and enjoy all this beauty that is on our doorstep. xx
Martinborough Wedding Photographer - David & Tina I always love a wedding at Brackenridge, Martinborough and this one was no different. Tina & David had their two children in the wedding party and the day really was all about family. One of the really special touches was having a magician at the recepetion - David's grandfather was a magician so this was a lovely nod to him. Thanks so much for having me along for your wonderful day! Sharisse xx
Riversdale Wedding Photographer - Liam & Renee What could be more chilled out than having your wedding at a beautiful beach-side location? Renee & Liam choose to do just that - and chilled out it was! The groom was even doing his tie about 5 mins before the wedding ceremony, and the bride arrived courtesy of her brother's yute! I loved the relaxed casual vibe to this wedding - a lovely low key affair with friends and family. What more could you want? Thanks so much for having me along! Sharisse x

The Landing Masterton Wedding Photographer - Jade & Craig The Landing in Masterton is one of my favorite venues in the Wairarapa and its always a pleasure to work there. It was no exception for Jade & Craig's big day. This day was perfect from start to finish and with two young children in tow, these two were super relaxed about everything on the day and leading up to it. Being farmers, we made the most of the rural setting behind the property. Their two young boys loved the tractor and the doves but by the end of the day, all the excitement of the wedding day had got the better of them! Jade & Craig, thanks so much for having me along! x
Tarureka Estate Wedding Photography - Sam & Jennifer Sometimes less is more. Sam & Jennifer kept their beautiful Tarureka Estate wedding very simple and low key. Just a small group of close friends and family celebrating at a beautiful location. These guys asked me to shoot for just a few hours, which was plenty to cover everything they wanted. I really love weddings like this - sweet and simple and all about the people around you. Sam & Jennifer, thanks so much for having me along for your wedding day. xx

Wairarapa Pet Photographer - My own fur baby I don’t usually photograph pets, but when I approached to photograph two dogs who were brothers, I took on the challenge. One of the dogs, Oliver had been unwell for some time, so it was important for their mum to get some lovely photographs of them together. They have both passed on, and the family now have a beautiful framed set of photographs on their wall. After this shoot I decided that I needed to photograph my own fur baby, Moose. He wasn’t overly impressed but he played along! I am so glad I did this as today was such an incredibly sad day for our family. We had to let our Moose Dog go. He was just under four years old and was a massive part of our family. The boys loved him to pieces – he comforted them when they were sad or scared, walked them up to school, wagged his tale when he saw them again at the end of the day. He was so big, yet so gentle. Such an amazing family pet. For me, he was with so much – out for walks, runs, exploring the hills. He loved our adventures in the Tararuas. He would sleep outside my office door while I worked, as soon as we woke up, he would come in and say hello. Greet us eagerly at the door when we returned home after being out without him. He would give my husband the biggest cuddles when he got home form work. For someone who at first wasn’t keen on getting a dog, they became best buddies, partners in crime! Everyone loved Moose. He became sick suddenly. Two days before [...]

Wellington Family Photographer - Queensberry Album This family came to see me with their goal being to capture the characters of their children at this age and also the relationships between them all. To tell their story we opted to take a few images in the studio and then head outside for a chance to play around and have some fun. Its hard to pick a single frame from this shoot for the wall, and sessions like this lend themselves to being presented as a story told through an album. We put together this gorgeous Queensberry album to document this special time in their lives, which I know these guys will cherish for many years to come.
