Covid-19

I hope you are all staying safe and taking care. x

Yep, its been a crazy few weeks that’s for sure and I, like so many people am still trying to make sense of it all. What it means for my family, children, work, business. Everyone’s life has been turned upside down, and nobody knows what the future holds.

Its taken me a while to put something together, mainly because my focus has been on making sure my family is OK, but below I will outline some of the things I am doing here to make moving through this a little easier for anyone looking at booking photography with me.

UPDATE – Level 2

updated 12/8/20

urghhhhh……

Back to Level 2 for us in NZ now, or Level 3 if you are in Auckland.

Refer below to the info below for level 2 for us in the Wairarapa.

Just a note for couples planning a wedding – you are all probably feeling anxious about the weddings planned for the summer, and what to do for weddings further down the track. I know I am. Lets chat about your plans – I am super flexible, and as I only take on a limited number of weddings a year (max 10), I have plenty of space to move dates for you if that’s what we need to do. 🙂

UPDATE – Level 1

updated 8/6/20

We have now moved down to Alert level 1  here in New Zealand for COVID -19. Businesses can now operate again with contract tracing strongly encouraged.

Planning a wedding?

I know that plans are probably all up in the air at the moment, but if you are thinking of getting married, reach out and we can have a chat.  Going forward I think flexibility is the key, as none of us have a crystal ball. If we need to move wedding dates due to COVID-19 then I am sure we can find a solution that works for everyone.

Newborn Photographs

I can now photograph newborns as usual – so that means lots of baby cuddle for me again! Yipee! I will be keeping my usual high hygiene standards of hand washing and sanitizing frequently, and all props blankets sanitized and washed with sanitizing liquid. I do ask that if anyone is at all unwell then we reschedule.

Family Photography

Family photographs can be as usual, in the studio or outside.  The winter light and early sunsets is still a great time of year to make the most of an outdoor session. Wrap up warm and snuggle up with your whanau for some super lovely winter portraits.

Product Photography & Commercial Photography

This is all go. 🙂

UPDATE – Level 2

updated 13/5/20

We have now moved down to Alert level 2  here in New Zealand for COVID -19. The majority of businesses can now operate with physical distancing and contract tracing measures in place

This is an area that I given a great deal of thought to.

At this stage, I am will be offering ‘At home’ lifestyle shoots only, rather than studio sessions. Newborn sessions are close contact, and for a decent of time just by their nature.  I will be wearing a mask, but for me personally I would rather offer a service where I can still keep a 1m distance and have minimal physical contact with everyone involved.

Family Photography

Family photographs, again, will be outdoor sessions only. Given that we have this wonderful winter light and early sunsets its a great time of year to make the most of it anyway!

Product Photography & Commercial Photography

For most jobs, this should be fine, but lets talk to make sure it is.

A few other notes –

  • It goes without saying that I will be following all current Covid-19 guidelines issued by the government. This means that if your event/wedding doesn’t comply with current guidelines (number of guests ect) I wont be able to photograph it for you.
  • I will be complying with all current health, hygiene and distancing recommendations and adjusting my work to suit.
  • Clients will be sent a copy of my Saftey plan prior to booking.

UPDATES

We have now moved down from Level 4 to level 3  here in New Zealand for Covid -19. A  slight lifting of restrictions to enable parts of the economy to open up again in a safe way. At this stage, it looks as though face to face photography is still out for level 3.

  • Past Clients – I am still able to work on your images from home, deliver via online galleries and put album/product designs together for you. Please do bear in mind that I, along with with all other New Zealand parents have my children at home and I am attempting to home-school them, make sure they are OK and also look after my own business. Please be patient during this time – I am doing the best for everyone that I can, and I wont be perfect.
  • Products – My supplier are now back and up an running, although with a backlog of orders, so your continued patience is much appreciated at this time. It is important for me to continue to support NZ business, particularly at a time like this.

Planning a wedding?

I know that plans are probably all up in the air at the moment, but if you are (or were) thinking of getting married this coming season, reach out and we can have a chat. I have put together some really flexible options for clients over the last few weeks and come up with plans that both parties are happy and comfortable with. Every situation is unique, so lets talk and see if we can find a solution for you.

Newborn Photographs

This is a tough one, as its such a special time, that goes so fast.

Having said that, older babies are an absolute joy to photograph, so I would over the moon to photograph your wee one once we are back up and running.

If you really don’t want to miss out, there is also the option for me to help you take your own photos via a video chat. You can show me your home, lighting ect and I can advise on how best to set it up. I can even help direct your photos remotely and edit a few of your favorite images. It will be slightly different from what I normally do, but I can help you to get some lovely, classic, simple shots in a safe way.

Due to the close contact of newborn photography, I am not yet sure if we will be able to operate under level 2 or if we will need to wait until level 1

Family Photography

I am currently waiting for clarification from NZIPP but it looks as though this wont be available until level 2, and will be outdoor shoots only.

Product Photography

If you can send this to me in a contactless way, then I can photograph these for you

Commercial Photography

Hopefully  we can get a bit of this underway in level 3, but it will depend on what it is and what is required. So long as we can do it safely within the guidelines we can have a chat about it.

A few other notes –

  • It goes without saying that I will be following all current Covid-19 guidelines issued by the government. This means that if your event/wedding doesn’t comply with current guidelines (number of guests ect) I wont be able to photograph it for you.

Stay safe and take care of each other. Much Love, Sharisse xx
