Wairarapa Winter Weddings - Rebecca & Campbell I love a good winter wedding! The light is lovely and soft and the days are short. This means you get to make the most of the daylight, golden hour and night time shots without taking pictures all day and all night! Rebecca and Campbell chose their date for the new moon for the start of a new beginning and I was so excited. I kept my fingers and toes crossed for a lovely sunny day and a clear night! Thanks so much for having me along Rebecca & Campbell. x

Tarureka Estate Wedding Photography - Sam & Jennifer Sometimes less is more. Sam & Jennifer kept their beautiful Tarureka Estate wedding very simple and low key. Just a small group of close friends and family celebrating at a beautiful location. These guys asked me to shoot for just a few hours, which was plenty to cover everything they wanted. I really love weddings like this - sweet and simple and all about the people around you. Sam & Jennifer, thanks so much for having me along for your wedding day. xx

Tarureka Estate Wedding Photographer - Josh & Allanah's Winter Wedding I really love winter weddings and I always wonder why more couple don't go down this road. So long as you choose your venue carefully, I really think its one of the best times of the year to get married. Firstly, you tend to get your pick of vendors over the quieter months. Less competition for available dates, less stress. You can also get great deals in the off season. But, as a photographer the reason I love winter weddings is for the light! Soft winter light is the best and you also get to take sunset and night time shots without missing your party - bonus! And if rains - so much fun can be had photographing in the rain, and if its really bad then you will have chosen an awesome venue so it doesn't matter! And if you want to you can always opt to go a 'First Look' as these guys did to really make the most of the time with your guests. Allanah and Josh opted for this stress free option and oh my, was this wedding fun! I thoroughly enjoyed shooting the day, and I have to say my cheeks were hurting from laughing so much by the end of the day. I am sure the photographs will tell the story without me rabbiting on! So here they are.....

Tarureka Estate Wedding - Wairarapa photographer Tarureka Estate in the little Wairarapa town in Featherston has to be one of my favourite venues! Apart from being just a few a short distance form my home and it also just absolutely stunning inside and out. And the best bit is that if it rains, there are so many amazing spots for photographs. This makes it a perfect winter wedding venue! (IMHO!) Lauren & Hamish picked a stunning winters day to tie the knot at Tarureka, and also we had lots of wet weather options available the light was just glorious! Oh this wedding was just beautiful and there are too many lovely images to share.....but here are a few! I received a lovely email recently from one of my couples' after delivering their finished album. The finished album is what its all about and these guys now have an amazing story of their day which they will one day be able to share with their children and grandchildren. Wedding photography is about so much more than just the wedding day. "It arrived (the album)and oh my god we are so happy! It is even more beautiful then we thought and our family can't believe how amazing it is! Thank you so much Sharisse, these were the kind of photos I was dreaming of and they couldn't have been more perfect! The album is just breathtaking and we can't wait to start displaying the rest of our favourites (because we have so many) around the house! Thanks again!!!''' Karlee & Simon I was lucky enough that the lovely peeps at Queensberry spotted Karlee & Simon's lovely album and it featured on their site! Thanks for sharing Queensberry! http://weddingalbums.queensberry.com/galleryslide/8424450c639832ddca/slide

I love Autumn weddings! The light is lovely, the colours divine, its not too hot and you can be creative with stylish ways to keep warm! Tarureka Estate, just outside of Featherston in the Wairarapa is a perfect venue for weddings in the colder months. Firstly of all, the rooms of the homestead and cottage have the perfect backdrop for the getting ready in. If the weather is fine, the garden is a lovely location to hold the ceremony and if the sun gods aren't coming out to play when the loft above the old barn is a stunning and unique alternative. Autumn trees are just stunning for the formal photographs and if you start to get a bit chilly, the homestead has some great indoor areas for photography. I think in Sarah & Mitch's you can really see what a great day you can have with an autumn wedding!
